A wooded acre on a horse property in Mooresville — undergrowth, saplings and deadfall between the pasture and the tree line. The owner wanted it opened up and usable without losing the mature trees. July 2026, same property, every stage.

From the Mooresville job — our crew's footage, unedited.
Selective clearing is the harder version of this job. Anyone can flatten an acre. Keeping the trees the owner wants while taking everything else takes an operator who's paying attention.
A residential lot in Huntersville that had gone to brush, vines and a rusted chain-link fence buried in the growth. The owner wanted it cleared to bare ground. Same yard, every stage.

Mowing over it would've looked cleared for a month. Pulling the roots and the fence is what makes it stay that way.
Done right, land clearing leaves you with stable, build-ready ground — not churned-up dirt that washes into the road with the first hard rain. Here is what actually goes into it.
Clearing takes down what is above ground — brush, saplings, trees, undergrowth. Grubbing goes after what is below it: the root balls, stumps and buried organic matter that rot, settle and leave soft spots under a slab or driveway if they are left behind. For a build pad or a driveway you want both; for a rough trail or pasture, clearing alone may be enough. We tell you which your job actually needs instead of upselling the harder one.
Two ways to handle what comes down. Haul-off loads brush, trunks and stumps into trucks and takes them away — the cleanest finish, best when you want bare ground. Forestry mulching grinds standing growth into a fine chip layer right where it falls — faster, no burning, no hauling, and the chip layer helps hold soil against erosion. On acreage, mulching is usually cheaper; on a tight build lot you want it hauled. We price both so you can see the trade-off.
Strip a lot bare and the next storm can carry half your topsoil into the street — and in most of our counties that is an erosion-control and stormwater problem at inspection, not just a mess. We clear with that in mind: leaving root structure where it holds a slope, staging the work so bare ground is not exposed longer than it has to be, and rough-grading so water sheds off cleanly instead of cutting channels. If your job needs silt fencing or a stabilized entrance to pass inspection, we say so up front.
"Cleared" means different things depending on what is going in. A fence line needs a clean, stump-free path. A build pad needs grubbing, compaction and a rough grade your foundation crew can work off. A pasture just needs the brush gone. Tell us what is next for the lot and we clear it to that standard — no more, no less — so you are not paying for finish you do not need or re-hiring for finish you do.
